Artist's Comments

Well, I'm pretty much going to repeat what was in my very first journal entry because I was a noob and didn't know about this yet so I put all this stuff there instead.

I am a self-taught artist. I have never taken an art class in my life. I had uptight parents who thought art was a waste of time, but now that they see what I do they exploit me by asking me to draw them things all the time...Sigh.. I went to college when I was 16 years old though, so I didn't have much say in the matter. I am a Sign Language Interpreter by occupation and work in a college but I have always been stuck interpreting science, engineering, and math mostly. However, I got lucky last semester and had the chance to interpret my very first art class so it was almost like taking it myself. I had the opportunity to do it again this summer for a different art class with the same student. She's quite good so we had a lot of fun in it. I consider her a friend as well as a student. I encouraged her to post some things here and she started an account but has yet to post anything. Slacker :P

I have had periods of laziness through the years where I didn't produce anything for long stretches, but then I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and that changed my perspective completely. I started doing projects much more consistently because I wanted to do it while I still could, though now I'm not as scared of that as I first was. But it's great therapy to maintain my dexterity. Art plus the interpreting makes me the most dexterous gimp on the planet :)

This is a picture of me that I took of myself. It's not the greatest picture, but then again I'm not the greatest photographer.

I welcome any feedback, comments, suggestions, whatever you like. I've had a great time here at DA so far. This is truly a fantastic place.

I like the jaunty angle of your head and the expression, you seem very "vogue" but the color and focus make it seem anti-vogue, so I like that it is almost satirical about the fashion industry, even though you personally look great in the photo.

:lmao: It takes a photographer to analyze my DevID picture. You're cute ~Tampnknock
