This is wonderful! It has such a soft and warm feel to it. Very realistic, the eyes stand out the most to me. =D Love this!

It's great! but... You say it is a "serene" woman, and i believe you :). But in my eyes she looks like she is in front of a great decision and she cannot decide what to do. Great again like your other work.

You make an excellent point about her expression. Maybe not serene :giggle: I hadn't seen it that way before, but I just looked at it on my wall and it's obvious now :D I'm glad you like it, even if the title is a little off

yep. It's fantastic for pastels. My favorite is LaCarte by Sennelier..but there is also Wallis sanded paper and Colorfix. It makes the pastel pigment stay in place and you don't have to use a spray fixative when you're done which is great since fixative can alter your colors. :D

Thank you :) That one is the very first pastel I ever did. I didn't go to art school or take classes so that picture was a lot of trial and error :shh: hehe

Both..some are pictures, some are life...for example, 'Phil' was from life..he sat in my living room very patiently..Mimi was actually from memory. She's my grandmother but she had passed away so that one I kinda winged it :)
